Centenary Project

To mark our centenary, we have been considering how we could make our clubhouse more accessible, welcoming and useful.

  • We have tried to keep the proposals modest to ensure that we maintain the down to earth, family focus of our club.
  • We look forward to refining the options with members, especially those who these changes might affect.
  • We are using this opportunity to refine and update the way we do things, like storage and the bar service.
  • We have consulted neighbours who have been broadly supportive of the plans.
  • Once we have reviewed the feedback, and have a clear idea of costs and the funds available, we will decide which options to build.
  • We are planning to collect pictures and stories from the club’s 100 years and publish a book in the lead up to 2021.

Below you will find;

  • A short movie to help you to see the changes and bring them to life
  • a couple of views of how the clubhouse might look
  • floor plans for the ground and first floors.

N.B. This design is still a “work-in-progress” and we are still struggling with some aspects e.g.

  • Access to the balcony & Crowsnest – we are trying to find somewhere to put a new  stairway (preferably external).
  • There are a number of outstanding questions around storage for the bar.
  • Costs and funding

Please have a look at the design – we are currently keen to get any suggestions around these or any other aspects.

We would very much like your views to be taken into account.  Please email us your thoughts and any suggestions or feedback (positive or otherwise) to  by the end of March 2017.
