We are an active class racing on the beautiful River Deben and comprising a range of rigs, abilities and ages (currently from 16 to 84!).
With our own start and strong weekly turnouts, there is usually competition to be found at most levels of the fleet.
Racing
Saturday racing involves two races from a committee boat start, while Wednesday racing is a single race from the club line. During the season there are the ‘big three’ club events- the Easter Egg, Regatta and Cartoon Trophy.
Our annual Laser Open is a popular event with fleet numbers regularly in the twenties and thirties.
Social
We have class bbqs and end-of-season curries alongside the Wednesday suppers and social events run by the club.
The laser Whatsapp group is great for staying up to date with class news, upcoming events and local boats for sale.
Training
We are a friendly bunch and encourage members to share ideas and advice. Our training sessions are aimed at the beginner and intermediate sailor. These vary year to year, ranging from early season rigging clinics, talks on tactics to on-the-water boat handling.
Club lasers
