We are a friendly class enjoying our racing on the River Deben. We are made of a range of abilities, ages (currently 16 to 84), and rig sizes. With our own class start and strong weekly turnouts, there is usually close racing at most levels of the fleet.
Racing
Saturday racing involves two races from a committee boat start, while Wednesday racing is very popular with a single race from the club line, followed by a meal in the club.
There are also the ‘big three’ club events- the Easter Egg, Regatta and Cartoon Trophy, in addition to our class Open which has fleet numbers regularly in the twenties and thirties.
Social
We have our end-of-season curry alongside the Wednesday suppers and social events run by the club.
The class Whatsapp group has class news, upcoming events and details of local boats for sale.
Training
The class puts on some training sessions each year for beginners and intermediates, either in the club or on the water, with subjects ranging from starting practice to boat speed. There’s often a fair bit to be learned in the dinghy park afterwards, even if it is just hearsay on the latest mud bank!
Club lasers
