Yacht Class

About Us

We are a friendly, lively and inclusive class, offering a range of sailing and social activities.  Our sailing season is filled with a mixture of cruises and races that aim to provide members and their friends with the opportunity to visit many of the East Coast ports and Clubs.

We have our own Facebook group called “WSC Yacht Class’.  The aim of the group is to exchange ideas, share advice on boating issues (particularly around laying up and fitting out time) and for like minded shipmates to arrange get togethers on an informal basis outside of our formal club cruising calendar.

We all share the common passion of sailing and having fun and we welcome new members.

Organisation

The yacht class has a small committee comprised of a chair, secretary and two or three members.

A spring meeting is held in April when we discuss activities for the year including a Pims Party, an annual dinner, cruises to London, the Ore, the Blackwater, the Backwaters and the Orwell. In past years there have been cruises to France and Holland.

In October an AGM is held at which the annual accounts are presented and other matters including the appointment of officers.

Activities are normally announced several weeks in advance in the WSC Secretary’s weekly email to all club members and if possible in the Club’s calendar of events published early each year.
