Dinghy Sailing
Suffolk is home to one of the most picturesque stretches of navigable water in the UK and here in Waldringfield on the river Deben we are in the centre of it and get to sail in an area of outstanding natural beauty. If you want to have fun on the water, try your hand at sailing. There are not many better places to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings whilst being powered by nature!
Waldringfield Sailing Club provides a go sailing programme for adults and the sessions are ideal for anyone over 18 looking to develop their sailing skills and gain the confidence to get involved in other club activities such as dinghy cruises or club racing.
This year there are thirteen sessions on Saturday mornings between April and October. The dates are below and are published in the club’s programme.

The sessions start from 0945hrs until around midday. Safety boat cover is provided during the session. There is no cost, and it is open to club members. Non-members are also welcome to attend a few sessions before joining the club, to see if they like sailing here (who wouldn’t!)
The club has a selection of club boats which will be used for the go sailing sessions.
Our fleet includes Wayfarers, Hartley 15’s and a Laser Bahia. We may also have the use of keelboats with their owners acting as instructors. You can also bring your own boat to the sessions if you want (please ensure you have insurance and your vessel is seaworthy).
The sailing club has an active social scene and why not enjoy the galley, which will be open afterwards for coffee, tea, delicious cakes, and an excellent selection of rolls after your sailing session.
